James Gang Gig List June 1968 – October 1969 - UPDATED.James Gang Gig List January 1968 – May 1968 - UPDATED.The high point of their career may have been their appearance at Carnegie Hall in New York in May 1971, which resulted in a live album “James Gang Live In Concert” which was released in September 1971, four months prior to Joe Walsh’s departure. This 3-piece (Joe Walsh-guitar, Jimmy Fox-drums & Dale Peters-bass) would be the definitive James Gang until Joe Walsh’s departure in December 1971. The remaining three-piece band (Joe Walsh-guitar, Jimmy Fox-drums & Tom Kriss-bass) would continue until late 1969 when Kriss was replaced by Dale Peters on bass. Original member Ronnie Silverman (guitar) returned and replaced Bill Jeric until June 1968 when he left prior to the James Gang appearance in Detroit with Cream. During the early part of 1968 both Phil Giallombardo (keyboards) and Bill Jeric (guitar) would leave the band.

Joe Walsh (guitar) joined the band in January 1968 replacing Glen Schwartz who had left in late 1967 to help form the band Pacific, Gas & Electric.

The James Gang originated in Cleveland, Ohio in 1966.
